Transport in Hanoi
Southern Bus station (Giap Bat Bus station) Km6 Giai Phong Rd., Hoang Mai Dist., Tel: 38641467. There are 120 inter-provincial bus routes from the station to provinces in the South. Operating time is from 3am to 9pm.
Gia Lam Bus station
9 Ngo Gia Kham St., Long Bien Dist., Tel: 3827 2029. There are 91 inter-provincial bus routes from Gia Lam Bus station to Hai Phong, Ha Long, Lang Son and other provinces in the North, North-east and North­west; operating time is from 3am to 9pm.
Luong Yen Bus station
Nguyen Khoai St., Tel: 3972 0477. There are
22 bus routes from here to Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Lang Son provinces. Operating time is from 4.30am to 9pm.
My Dinh Bus station
20 Pham Hung Road., Tu Liem District, Tel: 3768 5549. There are 130 inter-provincial bus routes from here to Son Tay, Hoa Binh, Moc Chau, Son La, Tuan Giao, Dien Bien Phu, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh and Thai Binh. Operating time is 5am – 10pm.
Nuoc Ngam Bus station
Km 8, Ngoc Hoi St., Hoang Mai District, Tel: 3861 8264. There are buses from here to Central provinces, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. There is also bus to Laos. Operating time is from 5am to 9pm.
Yen Nghia Bus station (former Ha Dong Bus Station)
Ba La Ward, Ha Dong Dist. There are buses from here to Son La and Lai Chau provinces.

Ha Noi Transportation and Service Corporation (Ha Noi Transerco) offers city bus service with air-conditioned buses and minibuses available on most of the main streets of Ha Noi, operating daily from 5am to 7pm – 9pm. Buses are available every 5-20 minutes, depending on different routes. The fare is 5,000 – 7.000VND.
Bus stop stations are indicated by green signs with white letters and yellow top with the red symbol bus.

It is possible to hire a car with a driver, a Jeep, or even a minibus or a bus, at most tourist offices, hotels, and airline offices.
Ha Noi Railway station, located at 120 Le Duan St., at the end of Tran Hung Dao St. (Tel: 3942 3697, Fax: 3747 0336), is Viet Nam’s main railway station. It is the starting point of railway lines leading to most of provinces in Viet Nam.
Ha Noi Railway station has two gates: the main “A station” is on Le Duan street and “B Station” is on Tran Qui Cap street. Domestically, trains from “A station” depart for Southern provinces while trains from “B Station” depart for Northern provinces. In addition, there are international railways to some provinces of China.
Ticket office is open from 7am to 11pm. There are regular daily connections with Ho Chi Minh City. Advance booking is required. Some northbound (Viet Tri, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lang Son…) and eastbound (Hai Phong, Quan Trieu…) trains depart from Gia Lam (Tel: 3878 1043/ 3873 0083) and Long Bien Tel: 3942 2770/ 3927 1257) stations.

Noi Bai International Airport is 35km from the centre of Ha Noi. A taxi from the airport to the city costs 200,000 – 250,000 VND. For an air­port minibus into the city, wait outside the ter­minal building; it costs 25,000 VND per per­son. Minibuses leave for the airport from the Viet Nam Airlines Office at 1 Quang Trung St. Service at regular intervals from 4.20am, but you can check departure times at the Viet Nam Airlines Office. Air-conditional city buses (N07) leave from outside Noi Bai terminal every 20 or 20 minutes between 5am and 9pm daily and cost 10.000VND. The buses stop at Cau Giay Bus station.
From Ha Noi, there are regular flights to many cities around Viet Nam and in the world, Northern Service Flight Company (Gia Lam Airport, Gia Thuy Ward, Long Bien Dist.) operates chartered helicopters between Ha Noi and Ha Long Bay and some other desti­nations. There are many companies in Ha Noi offering metered taxi services.
The common price is about 9.000VND for the first 1 kilometre and is lower for the next kilo­metres. For long distance roundtrips (40- 50km onwards), some companies offer 70% discount for the return way.

They can be hired at shops along some main streets and around the old quarter of Ha Noi at many traveller cafes and hotels. The price for renting a motorbike ranges from US$5 to US$10 per day and US$1 fora bike. Passport is required as a deposit. To be safe, you should always leave your motorbike or bike in a supervised parking area.
Travelling by cyclos is a good way to view mound Ha Noi. The main operating area of oydos is the old quarter of Ha Noi, you can easlly find cyclos there. Price is around 100,000 VND/person/hour.
